Baddow Spartak Scorpions - 0

This was our first game for a couple of weeks and one one that nearly succumbed to the frost. The game began in a messy manner with neither side getting the ball down and playing football. After 10 minutes all that changed when Michael threaded through a smart pass to Aaron on the left wing which he rifled into the bottom corner - a really well taken goal. They boys kept the pressure on pinning the opposition into their half and on 15 minutes a well taken corner from Ant seemed to bypass everyone in the box, but Michael picked it up from 18 yards and shot accurately to make it 2-0. The pressure continued, although we weren't at our best today, and resulted in a free kick just outside the area on 25 mins. After a debate about whether George or Ant would take it, George stepped up, and with pinpoint precision got the ball over the wall with plenty of height and scored his first ever goal. Always a rock in defence, George's goal warmed the cockles of all of the home team and the supporters too.

The Baddow goalie had had a really good first half and denied the Hawks two chances and continued his good form in the second half. Not long after the restart we began to create some good chances in midfield, and Ellis played a precision pass to Ant who took the goalie on, and with a little deflection secured his goal having been involved with a great deal of our good work in the first half. Baddow tried to up the ante as the clock ticked on and at this time the Hawks defence really started to play well as a unit having not had a huge amount to do in the first half. Jamie and Aaron linked up well on the left and there were valuable contributions from the likes of Harry T, Harry A and Alex too. On 47 minutes the ball came from midfield out to Lewis on the right and from at least 22 yards out , whoosh, Lewis connected with the sweetest of right foot shots and we were 5-0 up. He had played well in the first half too and ended up being awarded Man of the Match. Finally with 4 minutes to go Harrison delivered yet another decent corner and a second goal on the day from our defence - this time from Dan. So the end result was 6-0 and from six different goalscorers - well done guys !

Squad - Rob, Alex, George, Daniel, Harry A, Aaron, Ellis, Michael, Lewis, Harry T, Anthony, Harrison and Jamie.  The score was 6-0.
