Focus Ferrers Hawks (u14) v Witham Eagles (u14)
Following a number of fantastic performances over the last couple of months it was unusual to see the Hawks get off to a nervous start. During the first quarter no side really dominated although the Hawks had a number of corners. Anthony finally opened the scoring and the Hawks settled a little and started showing the skills we know we have, and it seemed the replacement of the match ball which was very flat also helped. James was unlucky not to score with a super strike which just went wide. The Eagles then had a shot the other end when the ref waved away an offside flag, causing Tony to make an outstanding save nudging a ball heading for the top corner over the crossbar. Just before half time, James had another shot which again just went wide.
In the second half Ellis was working well on the wing creating a number of chances. The Eagles kept pressurising and George produced some great defending however a short time later the Eagles scored to make it 1-1. The Hawks then nearly went 2-1 down but were saved by Harry who cleared the ball off the line. Cameron then scored via a soft tap past the keeper. Further great saves by Tony and strong defending ensured that 2-1 was the final score.
The score was 2-1.
