| 10 Oct 2010 | Great Notley United | 3-1 | U15s Hawks | League |
The game started on a positive note with the Hawks having most of the possession and demonstrating superior ball skills, However Great Notley were to open the scoring with an early goal against the run of play. Although the Hawks continued to keep the pressure on with the ball staying mainly in Great Notley's own half, (and Anthony coming close to equalising), Great Notley scored a second shortly after on the break. A fantastic save by Tony saved the Hawks going three down. Alex then scored at the other end to make it 2-1. A great defensive tackle by George and further save by Tony ensured this is how the game remained at half time. The second half began with another Great Notley goal on the break to make it 3-1, which ended up being the final score. Whilst it was clear that Great Notley had trained in the lob and run style familiar to the Wimbledon FC of old, it proved a good tactic for them. The Hawks will need to be more alive to loose balls and not wait for the ball to come to them. Once the Hawks do this they will beat "lob and run" teams which is why it is not seen in the higher leagues. Man of the match was George.
