| 14 Sep 2008 | U15s Hawks | 3-3 | Mayland Village Tigers | League |
This was the first game of the new season with a newly formed squad and it was certainly an entertaining game. There were goals aplenty and a real exciting finish to the game. The Hawks took the lead after 1 minute with Charlie getting on the score sheet, but the lead didn't last for long with Mayland grabbing a quick equaliser soon after. In what was an even game Mayland took the lead with a well taken goal from their right winger. This galvanised the Hawks and after 18 mins Anthony got the equaliser - the remainder of the half was scrappy with a lot of play focused in the middle rather than out wide. Some changes were made at half time and the first 20 minutes of the second half were a gritty affair with both teams coming close. The deadlock was broken with 10 minutes to go when Mayland took the lead. The Hawks were not going to back off and turned up the tempo which led to the equaliser from Lewis with 5 minutes to go. This was an encouraging start from the boys in thier first game of the season - well done. Man of the Match was Charlie Lepley.
The score was 3-3.
