Our third game of the season against our local rivals was always going to be a tight, hard fought ,but fair game and from the starting whistle we were not to be disappointed. The game was fast and furious and with both teams having chances it fell to Woodham to open the scoring with a very well taken goal.1-0 and with the wind against us we would have been happy to go in at half time with that score. But with our boys building up momentum and playing a good passing game we won a freekick in an important area of the field.Joe Turpin took the kick, with George Ashley heading it on and Zack Fleming coming in on the back post to smash the ball into the back of the net.We continued to push and it wasnt long before James Griffiths went on an excellent solo run ,passed 3 players and hit a perfect shot from outside the area into the Woodham net.2-1 at half time and with the wind with us in the second half it was the perfect score. We went out in the second half with the same attitude and played some excellent football. We had long spells camped out in the opposition half.We scored a further 2 excellent goals from Joe Turpin and a second from James Griffiths.4-1 is how it ended,a very pleasing result for the champions.Man of the Match went to James Griffiths for an excellent allround performance.
The score was 4-1.
