Our second test in the first division was against Maldon Saints, who were unknown to us. It was a warm morning and fitness was going to play a big part in the result.
We started well and were unlucky not to take an early lead when a mistake from the Maldon defence left an open goal for Ben to slot into. Unfortunately he put it wide and this set the scene for the first half as we wasted chance after chance.Against the run of play Maldon took the lead after some poor defending. It was not long before we were level with a great finish from Zack.
Half time we were at 1-1 and after a constructive half time team talk the boys took on board our instructions and started the second half as instructed with a lot more conviction .
We were soon 2-1 up after another great goal from Zack who finished the day with 4 great goals .
Further goals from James 2 George Ashley 2 and Ben 1 finished the game off with a convincing 9-1 victory.
Man of the match was Zack Fleming for a strong performance and four goals ,also good performances from Jack Wiseman and Jack Stoker .
Well done to all the boys.
