Match report
This was the start of numerous games in only two weeks and with some boys not being able to make the journey, this was a test to see if we were to challenge for the title. In coming weeks we have to play all the top teams and Dunmow certainly are amongst that group. We travelled over on a hot night with only 11 players. The pitch was very big and we were in for a very physical challenge. The first half was a tight affair, with both sides having chances and with us having to find a new goalkeeper it was up to Jack Wiseman to make some important saves. We went ahead with a good goal from Zack Fleming and hoped this was going to be the platform we needed. We were then hit with a blow as Dunmow equalised and as half time approached and not having any subs,it was going to be a very tough second half. Not for the first time this season, the players rose to the challenge and once again knuckled down to produce a brilliant performance.James Griffiths was excellent in midfield,Ben Mears was so solid in defense,Jack Stoker who had taken over from Jack W in goal was superb, and made 2 very good saves and James Graham worked so hard up and down the wing to help us to victory with two very well taken goals.Dominic Townrow also produced his best performance of the season to control the wing and play some excellent football.3-1 to us is how it finished and Men of the Match went to James Graham and Dominic Townrow The score was 3-1.
