Match report

Yet another encounter with Rayne Youth.This time in the Knock-out cup.we have had some excellent games in the past 2 seasons and this was no different.We started well enough and were playing well at the back.The midfield were winning the battle and the strike force upfront were starting to get a few chances.Our first goal was an excellent finish by Zack Fleming ,who muscled his way through he defense to put us 1-0 up.The second goal was a superb ,left foot free kick from Joe Turpin ,so accurate with such good power.Joe also completed a stunning shot through a wall of players to hit the third and his second.An unfortunate error led to Raynes reply ,but we finished off the first half with a good strong forth goal ,knocked over the line by James Griffiths.It wasn't the end of the scoring and Zack finished off an excellent header to make it 5-1 at half time ,an excellent performance from the whole team,even if we did have the wind with us.There was a bad leg injury to the Rayne goalkeeper which was a shame to see,but he recovered well for the second half.The second half was a different picture to the first and it was much more of a battle ,Rayne created a few chances and had a goal disallowed before finally making it 5-2.We were still up for the fight and when the ball broke well for James Graham,he controlled it knocked it forward and hit a brilliant long range effort into the corner of the goal.Excellent performances from Jack Stoker and Man of the Match Ben Mears,who fought throughout and battled for every ball. The score was 6-2.
