Match report
This was our first meeting against our neighbours Woodham Town .We knew it would be a good game and from the start you could see all the boys were prepared to play well.We started off the better team and for long periods we penned Woodham into their half. The defense was solid and the midfield were winning the battle and giving our forwards plenty of chances. However we were finding it hard to convert and it wasn't until Zack done well to run down a Woodham clearance, the ball fell into his path and he passed the ball into an empty net.1-0 at half time and this was no more than we deserved. We spoke at half time for the need to be tight and not concede within the first ten minutes.Woodham done just that and scored a good goal just after the restart. The second half was more a 50-50 game ,with both teams having chances. We did have three one on ones with the keeper ,that Zack would have usually put away.In the end it was left to an excellent run from James Griff,he took on players on the left and right and then hit the ball past the Woodham goalkeeper.2-1 is how it remained.Through to the semi final of the cup, well done boys.Very good performances today from Matthew,Joe,George P,Jack S,Ben,Zack and Man of the Match James Griff ,for a very good all round solid performance. The score was 2-1.
