Match report

This was the second round of the KO cup and we were against a team that we had played many times before.Boreham are a team that we have great respect for and although a division lower ,you would not have guessed from the first 20mins of the game.Boreham had a good structure and were upsetting our normal way of playing. We needed to break them down and it wasnt until half way through the first half until we had a well delivered corner from Jack Wiseman headed home by George Ashley to make it 1-0.Just before half time Zack Fleming broke free and hit an excellentshot with his left foot, straight into the top corner to make it 2-0.We wasn't at our best and we couldn't seem to get the flow of the game right. In the second half we changed the team again and set off at a better pace .We started to flow better and Ben Mears was controlling the centre of the park and making some excellent through balls to the front two.James was getting more and more down the wings and we were starting too create a few more chances.Boreham had one or two of their own and the defense seemed more solid than they had in the first half.It wasnt long before another good corner from Jack Wiseman was met by Jack Stoker to finish well to make it 3-0.The next goal was a further good corner by Jack and as good a header by George Ashley as you are likely to see.4-0 and with time ticking on we had just enough time for George to try for his hatrick, well saved by the keeper and a very good follow up by Dominic Townrow to finish the scoring and a 5-0 win.Not the free flowing football we are used to but still a good win.Man of the match went to a very good allround display from Ben Mears in the centre of midfield.
